Great way to start the new year, with a new guitar... and new strings.
Just snapped the first string while tuning my guitar. That'd be the 2nd time I was tuning my guitar today. Too damned enthusiastic I say.
And just when I was learning how to play Boulevard of Broken Dreams too. Damnit, I think the earliest I can get new strings is on saturday. 4 days without practice?! O.o
I mean I know I won't be exactly free to practise like 1-2 hours a day, but for the past week I've at least touched/strum/play Gardenia/Monique. I don't know what 4 days without my guitar will do to the experience I've gained so far.
Oh well, no point crying over snapped strings (cliche of the year, woo!). I should be plenty busy with the amount of project work I need to tend to anyway...
Anyways... 2007 was a great year I suppose. Good results, improvements to live (e.g. laptop, guitar etc). New friends, new lifestyle. Quite a bit of change to my life I guess. While this is not a in-depth look to how my life in 2007 was, I'd say it was a good year.
2008 however, looks scary with the number of projects due in the 1-3rd week of school term start. Ah damn, just look to it with a gung-ho attitude I guess.
P.S. I just realised I didn't mention about my guitar before. She's called Monique aka Gardenia.
Quite an impact you made.
Quite a muddle of my mind you stirred.
Quite an interest I have now, of what the future is going to play out. =)

Time holds surprises.
In 10 years, people could be completely different persons.
In 20 years, people could be great-grand parents.
In 30 years, people could be six feet under.
What about a week?
Time holds surprises.

So it's like I'm heading over to jared's place to learn guitar with him and joel.
Kickass man.
I need motivation like having a band to kickstart my learning of musical instruments. Perfect man, and when I know more about music, then i can start to write songs.
It's nice that things fall into place for a change. And today? Good day :)
P.S. Writing blog has updated.

Camp was good.
And that is the extent which I would go about describing it. For saying anymore in words could not possibly do it any justice in describing what went on at the camp.
Seriously.
At any rate, I'm just killing time before I head over to AMK hub to get the present below $5 for the envoys gathering later on at 5. I'm supposed to get it gift-wrapped as it's a secret present for people, but unless I can get it done at the shop I purchase it at, I think I'm just gonna stick with foolscap paper.
Oh and the hardest part of Christmas ain't the present getting (althouhg it does hurt my wallet), it's really writing the letters. It's very draining to write personal and meaningful letters to over 10 people, yet very important to me.
In the words from 'The Jeweler's shop", so many words and hearts. Too many things going on right now to properly describe them in a single post.
P.S. 100th post :D

Let me try to get a meaningful, coherent post across. Sleep tugs gently.
Today (being the 13th of December) would be the start of camp. Being logistics dude for the TOG side, I still have quite a bit to get, e.g. floor typhoon fan, rugs. Not to mention I haven't packed for camp. And since I have to bring Genevieve along to camp, I'm gonna have to bring two bags. TWO BAGS DAMNIT.
Weee. Holidays are here? LIARS, FILTHY LIARS. I HAVE SO MANY PROJECTS AND MEETINGS AND GATHERINGS, WHAT HOLIDAYS? Oh wells, ah wells.
Anyways I'll be away for the next 5 days. Not that any of you would actually miss me but...
Aw what's the point? NOBODY EVEN READ THIS.
P.S. Hahaha.

P.S. Slowly getting into christmas mood!

Wait, envoys outing is on the 18th??? WOOHOO I CAN GO!
And all these sad sad while I thought it was on 17th and I wouldn't be able to go for it.
WOOT.
I guess it says a lot about a person when you book one studying room and you're the only person in there huh?

I need something stronger than redbull or coffee to keep me awake during school hours. That is, if I were to maintain my current sleeping patterns.
Yea, so if you NP students been wondering what's been going on at level 2 of Blk 72, now you know. A student lounge, wow. And by the looks from the pictures available (artist impressions only), it looks pretty sweet. Sure beats walking all the way to the library to study or chill out. But imagine the crowds, sure to be a turn-off.
Oh well, you'll know where I'll be next time then.

Alright fine. I do blog incessantly when I'm studying for exams. Or at least when I'm trying to.
Anyways, at library studying by myself now. Studying by yourself ain't half-bad as your attention is not disrupted by your noisy friends, the 'ring' that accompanies a sign in in windows live messenger on your friends computer and your cheeky eye trying to catch a glance of that pretty girl sitting near you.
But there are downsides of course. For one, my lack of sleep these days has driven my attention span to nuts. I fall asleep like three quarters into a lecture (boring lecturer don't help either) and I can't revise long enough before the sandman taps on my shoulder.
But most of all, the most frustrating thing to encounter you when you're studying by yourself... your need to pee.
When you have your laptop set up and work strewn across the table, all that is undone by the call of nature. It doesn't help that the air-con at level 4 is friggin' cold. Then you have to pack up and sigh at the fact that your brilliant find of a good place to study would be undone cause someone would walk by while you're at the toilet to swoop in.
Ah nuts.
Anyway, level 5 of the library is waaaaaaaaay warmer. But I'm okay with that. At least I can start revising properly now. YES I'M ONLY STARTING TO REVISE AFTER 2-3 HOURS IN THE LIBRARY, BLAME HEROES AND BMGT LECTURE SUMMARY FOR THAT.

It's 10 and Blaw revision pt. 1 is like a third done. Sounds impressive right?
Wrong. The remaining 2/3 are the killer parts, due to it being contract law and being tested in LAC format. For the people not educated in law in NP, LAC format is basically the format which we have to follow when doing law essays for exams.
Pure torture I tells ya.
Reading my blog during exam periods for me must be a turn-off for you readers. I was looking through my archives yesterday and I realised that for my last exam period, I was bitching about the exams. Again. Oh well, and I also noticed that blogging frequency also increased then.
I'm such a great time-waster.
Anyway, christmas looks to be around the corner with many cheers and causes for celebration. Though I'd expect christmas to be somewhat less cheery for me this year, being the first christmas in my 17 years on God's good earth that christmas holiday is only 2 weeks. And I swear, if school makes us go back on 31st December...
That being said, it also looks to be a somewhat special christmas this year. I've planned something simple yet nice for people who've shaped quite a fair bit of my life this year. Ahah, back to Blaw yea?

So I like got a bucket-load of songs from sam on friday, english songs mind you.
A lot of nice songs, some repitition, but then I came across one song.
Hero by Enrique Iglesias.
I've definitely heard this song before like on radio but I've somehow never really paid much attention to it or searched high and low for someone to send me this song.
But damn, I realise what a kick-ass awesome love song this is. It beats 'The Reason', 'Chasing Cars' and other love songs hands down (then again my choice of 'love songs' are rather debatable).
Oh I'm ranting but it's an awesome song nonetheless.
Maybe saving it while viewing it at 70% wasn't a very good idea...
Anyway, that's just one of two screenshots of my hard work. Hard work of what you ask?
Compiling exam info! Sometimes I feel I study rather aimlessly, just absorbing facts to spew it out like volcano on eruption day when the paper arrives. So I decided to plan out my revision schedule (2nd screenshot) and compile all Common test info (1st screenshot).
Some might say it's a waste of time and could be better used to actually revise but hey, I'm revising smartly by planning when to revise what module. In this way I save time and avoid repitition fo revising the same topic over and over again.
Anyway, planning goes down the drain if you don't actually carry it out. So let's hope I can muster enough will to fully concentrate on my revision. Woot, 1 more weeks till exams!
Signing Off,
Brian Thomas Lim

Feel the sudden urge to blog, even though it's like 0045 in the morning here and I have to wake up at 7.
Anyway, yesterday (30th November) was a good day. How so?
Things were productive. Meeting was productive. Fooling around with genevieve (my laptop) was productive as I made new shortcuts to make my laptop life easier. And best of all, chatting days seem to be back :D
I mean back in my msn heydays, I had a few friends who I constantly chatted with. It's like a daily/every two days necessity. Maybe the things we talked about were superficial/kiddy/silly, but at least talk was made and conversations were done. Butbut... Life made them dry up a few months ago, I can barely remember why.
But it seems new friends are being made and conversations are a-coming. Yup, those are good enough reasons for cheer ain't it?
Thanks to all the blogs i referred to (countless) for html code help :) (esp. cyn' and sixseven)
